The "Royal Wedding" Boerne style

This was my handsome date to Jordan and Kate's wedding this past weekend in Boerne, Tx. We had so much fun, and I had no idea what a little dance machine this guy is.
I grew up down the street from the Moore family, we went to church together, Jordan and I were a year apart in school and Debra and I work together at KP, so I was so glad that I was able to celebrate Jordan's wedding with them!!
Congrats to the beautiful Mr. and Mrs. Moore!
(that's us on the back row....yes I let my child stand in his seat, but at least he made it through the ceremony without a major meltdown! Although he did test me to see how loud he could whisper and still get away with "being quiet")
The first thing we did when we got there was feed the longhorns!
Then we found a precious J&K corn hole game (thank goodness! We were about 45 minutes early, so the entertainment was MUCH appreciated) ...I totally thought this was just a beanbag form of washers, but Travis informed me it has it's own name.
I wish I would have gotten more pics of the decor- everything was SO ADORABLE!!!
"Is it time to go dance now!??"
I can't believe I don't have any pictures of this kid getting down on the dancefloor. He found several little girls that kept him company, and he had SO MUCH fun!!!
After picking up Camryn at my Auntie Lisa's house in Salado (thank you Lisa!!!), I think we finally made it home and into bed by 2am! Of course BOTH kids were up and attem' the next morning by 7, but it was worth it! :)

4 month old munchkin

Oh, Camryn! You are the most precious thing I've ever seen in my life. Your smile lights up the room and your "poof" of hair is always the first thing people notice when we go out.
When you are happy, you are SO happy. You have really enjoyed watching yourself in the mirror on your playmat, "playing" in your jump-a-roo and watching cartoons with your brother.
We have started giving you rice cereal (and have now switched to oatmeal thanks to the arsenic scare in the rice) and you're not a huge fan, but getting better and better at eating from a spoon. Your BIGGEST smiles go to your biggest fan and brother, Colby. He can always cheer you up and can usually entertain you for short rides in the car. You are a great napper during the day, usually taking a few one hour naps and then a 2-3 hour nap in the middle of the day. You love bath time and you love to practice sitting up and standing.

On the flip side, I have to say that you are more than a bit high maintenance and quite a little drama queen. (I'm sure this is only the beginning of our drama adventures.)
You have not slept through the night since July. The longest stretch you've made this month is maybe 5-6 hours. You're usually up about every 3-4 hours which has made for one tired mommy since daddy has been out of town. It's actually pretty amazing though how my body is starting to adjust to my "new normal" and I have way more energy than I think I should have during the day.
You have been a terrible eater. Dr. K. says that you should be eating at least 24 ounces per day. I'm lucky if I can get you to eat 20-22 ounces in a day. You're just not interested. This week I have switched to soy formula to see if that helps. You are maybe eating a tiny bit better but not much. I'm not sure if this is just a phase or if we need to find a new formula, but hopefully we can figure all of that out soon.
You are not one of those babies who will fall asleep in someone's arms or in your carseat at a restaurant. You typically have to cry yourself to sleep in your swing or in your crib. (all swaddled up, of course) Sometimes it only takes 30 seconds of crying and sometimes it takes 20 minutes. I've been trying to always lay you in your crib first and if you just can't fall asleep, I switch you to the swing to sleep. It's not ideal, but it's what's working for now.
You are our little princess and we love you to pieces!!!! I hope that we can get your eating and sleeping habits figured out very soon. I'm going back to work full time next week, so that will tweak our schedule a little bit....hopefully for the better! :)
I had to post the picture above on the left to capture your 4 month hairdo!
Happy 4 month birthday, Princess Camryn!!! We LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!
ps....if I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times....What would I do without my iphone camera?!??

Gorgeous Weather!!

On Saturday we celebrated Camryn's 4 month birthday and the amazing weather by taking a stroll around the neighborhood. Colby rides this tricycle around the house CONSTANTLY, so I figured he'd have fun riding it on the street. He absolutely loved it and probably could have kept going all day long. Camryn also enjoyed her first time sitting in the stroller like a "big girl."
Hoping for lots more of this weather this fall!!
Highlight of the outing was seeing the baby sheep. :)

Uncle Big and Elyse

Do you know why this little muffin was so excited?? Her Uncle Big and Elyse were in town!!!! It was Elyse's first time to meet Miss Camryn and only Uncle Big's 2nd time to see her.
We love these 2 so much and are excited that they'll be back in town for Thanksgiving!!
Cami was also loving her Pops last week. :)

1st day of school!

Last Wednesday finally marked the beginning of the school year for Colby. I was very nervous for him because we found out that he was moving up to a different class and wouldn't be with any of his friends from last year.
Everything has been wonderful!!! Colby adores his teacher, Ms. Tammy, and is making new friends. So far Ms. Tammy has told me that she wishes she had all of Colby's energy, he never slows down and he is a wild man. She has said it all with a smile on her face, but I am pretty sure she knows she'll have her hands full with him this year!! :) We're so thankful for FUMC preschool and are looking forward to another fabulous year there!! (I'm not sure who was most excited about school... Camryn, Colby or me!!)

Opening Day

I'm pretty sure that September 1st is one of Travis' favorite days of the year....opening day for dove season! This year it was also the first day of college football madness....my husband was in heaven.
For the past few years, my Uncle Harry and Auntie Debbie have invited us over for a fun afternoon of dove hunting and dinner at the farm. This year, they also let us invite the Stahls to join us. We had so much fun....and I think Colby, Reagan and Chandler especially had fun since they went out to hunt with Travis and Dan. I was pretty sure that Colby would hate the loud gun shots, but apparently he loved it! He even "shot" his first dove (or dub as he says). He was a little upset that the feathers were flying off though.
