Supper Clubs
Last Sunday night we joined supper clubs with some of our parents and parents' friends to have a super supper club! Thank you Jermstads for inviting all of us over to your house to hang out. We had a great time!! (oh....Travis missed this fun event because he was at the Cowboys game!! Pictures from that to come...)
our supper club group (missing a few faces) We took about 5 group pictures, and in every one of them, Colby is trying to grab poor Kayla's hair!! haha....sorry Kayla!!

UT/Tech Tailgate
Last Saturday, Kristin and Dave invited us down to Austin for a tailgate party!! I had no idea what to expect, but definitely didn't expect the MADNESS that I experienced when we got there. There were over 500 people there (they ran out of wristbands, so I got big black X's on my hands). It was a blast, and some of our other good friends, Brad and Dee, were there also. Thank you, thank you to the Anthony's for taking care of Colby, and to Dave and Kristin for inviting us to the party!!

6 month update
I have been sooooo bad about updating. I know that I don't even have to tell you that our life is a bit crazy these days. I wouldn't have it any other way. Instead of trying to put together coherent paragraphs, I'm going to update via bullets and pictures! :)
-Colby turned 6 months old on September 13th...mom and I weighed and measured him at her house since he doesn't see the dr. again until October. By our calculations, he weighs about 19 pounds and is 27 and1/2 inches long...big boy!!
-we're transitioning into 6-9 month clothes, still wearing size 3 diapers...I think they'll fit for awhile
-eating all the time...not a fan of most fruits...he does love pears, but that's the only fruit he loves. He still loves his veggies and Mimsy has introduced him to sweet potato puffs
-he has no motivation to roll or try to crawl yet...he's perfectly content just chilling on the floor playing on his back or playing in his excersaucer or jumparoo...
-sleeping about 11 hours a night. He usually goes down around 8 and wakes up around 7am...such a good sleeper!
-3 naps a day...never know exactly when they'll be or how long they'll be though
-my favorite times of day are 1)getting Colby out of bed- he's SO happy, 2) feeding him his last bottle of the day and rocking him for a few minutes before I put him down. He's so precious and content
-he loves to "sing" to us in the car or in his crib
-still not sitting up on his own, but close!
Trav is studying like crazy, along with mowing yards and teaching anatomy on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6-9. We are so proud of him for doing GREAT in his first block.
I am loving my new 2nd graders. They are precious, and I love having them to myself all day.
After Trav's block one exam, he treated us to a family date night at Cheeve's! My favorite thing that happened was when Trav asked the waitress if this was the first time she'd seen a baby in the bar (even though we knew several of our friends take their babies regularly) She replied, "oh no, someone even had a BABY SHOWER here in the bar!" haha....
what is this face?? excited? confused? He was loving it...he stared at the table of girls behind us all night
Happy Cheeves Baby
All dressed up and ready to go to work with Pops! Sally gave my dad this cute soft briefcase full of soft toys like keys, cell phone, wallet, etc. Colby LOVES them!!
HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY BABY BOY!!
UT football/game night at Ashley and BJ's house
Colby took a GREAT nap in the guest bedroom...then hung out with Ally and Trent while we played one of our favorite games, loaded questions
Thank you Brad and Dee for Colby's new game day jersey!!
practicing with his sippy cup...he'd really rather just chew on it, but at least it's a start
one night when daddy was teaching, Colby and I played in the front yard. He helped me pull weeds and water our poor flowers (before the floods came)
"hey mom!"
:)
Tummy time...much more tolerable than it used to be
cute George's shirt from Whitney!!
playin with his toys on the floor
SO close to sitting up by himself...he fell over right after I took this picture
Last week he went through a phase where he thought it was really funny to use his tongue to push all of the food out of his mouth....very funny Colby!
SOO happy when he wakes up in the morning and after naps...what a nice change from the screaming wake up calls he gave us when he was first born
EW...not a fan of peaches...at all!
puppy kisses
genes are a funny thing...
When we were at the Macey's farm for dove hunting a few weeks ago, we discovered that Colby has a very special connection to his great-grandma Macey....overlapped toes!! I didn't even know that this existed...or that our children could possibly carry this trait...but sure enough, the proof is in the picture!! :) Love you Mamaw!

Mary Hayden and Grant
Saturday we went the the beautiful wedding of Mary Hayden Williams and Captain Grant McGregor. Due to the downpours outside, the wedding was moved inside at Tenroc, but it turned out just perfect. We had a blast!! The newlyweds seemed so happy and in love...I LOVE weddings!! :) (in fact, I had so much fun at this wedding that I forgot to eat some CAKE!!!! I think that's a first...)
footall talk outside...
Everyone knows that the teachers are the MOST fun people at a party!!
me and Ash...love her!
happy couple
gorgeous Tenroc
cute boys
my two beautiful bride-to-be girls! (Dee and Brad Oct. 2010, Ashley and BJ March 2010 can't wait!!)
gettin' jiggy with it...
proud parents...finally able to relax :) Great job guys!!
Opening Day
We celebrated opening day of dove season out at the Macey's farm. The girls and babies hung out in the bunkhouse and ate fajitas while the guys were hunting. Colby got to experience his first opening day by watching his daddy and Pops clean their birds. Maybe next year one of them will let him sit with them. :) Even if it's just for 5 or 10 minutes...
I had a great time catching up with friends and family...and both of my grandmas were there too! Colby was so happy and entertaining. Thank goodness for his excersaucer!!
It's so hard to believe that a year ago, Colby was the size of a lime in my tummy! WOW!
crib time
Colby has discovered that cribs aren't only for sleeping...he can also play in there! Sometimes when I lay him down he doesn't go right to sleep like he used to. He'll work and work to kick off his swaddling blanket and then play with his toes. :) As long as he's happy in there, I'm happy. He'll either put himself to sleep eventually or I will go put his pacifier back in when he gets upset.
I caught him in the act yesterday. He's such a funny little dude.
end result...sweet little boy!!
Scrubs
I just love Trav in his scrubs...it seems so official. (even though it really just means that he's been working in the gross anatomy lab....but I like to think that he's been saving lives or something cool like that...) Colby loves his daddy!! He gets so excited to see Travis walk through the door. Yesterday Travis took a break from studying to meet us at my parents' for lunch.
