The Sizzler

This year my dad asked Travis to play in the member/guest golf tournament (The Sizzler!) at Wildflower Country Club (where my parents live). It's a 3-day event this weekend, and they're having a blast!! They ended the day yesterday just a few strokes behind the leader, so hopefully they're on fire today and can pull out a win!! Colby and I happened to be at my parents' house yesterday when they were on the 9th hole (in my parents' backyard). They stopped for a picture with Colby- their goodluck charm!!

Quick Stats Update

Last week was Colby's 15 month check up.
weight- 22lbs 14oz - 25th percentile
height- can't remember and didn't write it down- 60th percentile
I had a slight panic attack when Dr. K said 25th percentile!! I promised him that I was feeding Colby!! :) He just laughed and said it wasn't a big deal. He looked at Travis and said that Colby was going to be long and lean like his daddy.
He checked his ears, and it turns out that Colby has ANOTHER right ear infection (3rd one in the last 6 weeks). Dr. said that it's from the croup settling in, and hopefully this round of antibiotics will get it all cleared up. We'll go back in 2 weeks to make sure.
He said Colby should be getting 12-24oz of milk per day. I told him that C has really slowed down his milk intake since we switched to sippy cups. He said that was ok and we could even do chocolate or strawberry milk if he'd drink that more. (I love how he is so calm about everything and always assures me that everything is ok...I think he can read the 1st time mom panic on my face...I just never know if we're doing what we're supposed to be doing or not :))
He said to start giving Colby some sort of multi-vitamin with iron. He mentioned something about a liquid kind that you can put in their drink, but I bought the Flintstones Complete and Colby is eating them. (thank goodness I read the label, because he only gets 1/2 of a vitamin per day...iron overdose is apparently a common problem with kids)
He recommended that we get a spin toothbrush, some infant toothpaste, and brush Colby's teeth daily for about 15 seconds...especially if we add chocolate milk to his diet. We started that this week, and so far so good.
Speaking of teeth, I mentioned this in an earlier post, but Colby is up to SIXTEEN teeth including the ones just breaking through. Poor thing....I feel like he's been teething for 12 months now! He has a mouthful and loves to show them off. :)
I asked the Dr. about eardrops for swimming. I am a little nervous about those ears since we'll be going to the river for a few days and then the beach for a week. He assured me that Colby will be fine and not to put any kind of alcohol drops in, because they'll strip the earwax, and then there won't be any protection in his little ears.
I think that's it! I was definitely pleased with all of the answers to my questions from this appointment. I'm also relieved that Dr. Kastner will be checking Colby's ears again in a few weeks to be SURE that the infection is completely gone before our vacation. We have a growing, healthy, lean and mean little boy, and we love him sooooooo much!!!

Life's a BEACH!!!

After a month of going back and forth and trying to decide what to do, we've FINALLY made the decision to go to Destin no matter what!! Yes, there have been tar balls or tar chips or whatever you want to call them on the beaches, but overall, it sounds like it's still beautiful and we're going to support them during this terrible oil spill event. I cannot wait to spend a week with the fam in July!!!! (not so much looking forward to the car ride with a 15 month old, but I'm trying to stay positive!! :))
Destin holds a special place in my heart. I went on a family vacation with Travis' family to Destin when we first started dating. We also celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary there with Hope and Jeffrey, and then last summer went back with Hope, Jeffrey, BJ and Ashley. It's one of the best places in the whole world, and I'm really hoping that they will somehow escape any huge damage from the oil rig explosion tragedy.
this is the beach last summer....my favorite thing about the whole trip is the beauty of the white sand and turquoise water...it's breathtaking!

I'm definitely going to have to dig up some Anthony family vacation pictures from Destin 2003!!

Mr. and Mrs. HB Macey!!! (Part 1)

Due to lack of blogging time, I'm not going to be able to post all 190 pictures that I took at HB and Lynnsay's beautiful wedding and reception. :)
It was a GREAT time. The wedding was at a small church in Seaton, Tx, and then the reception was at Sefcik Hall- SO FUN!! (definitely brought back a few Sr. Guys 2000 memories.....cannot believe that was TEN years ago?!?!!!!...that was the day that I got my little red mustang :))
It's always good to see family and friends, and to gather for a special occasion like this one. We're so happy for Lynnsay and HB!!! (and sad they'll be moving to Lubbock in July...but excited for their new journey)

one of the best parts of the weekend was having my little brother come stay with us!

HB and Lynnsay's Rehearsal Dinner

Last weekend was full of festivities to celebrate my cousin HB and Lynnsay's wedding! Friday night we joined them for the rehearsal dinner out at Oscar Store. We love that place! The food is awesome and the atmosphere is very laid back and different than anywhere else around here.
Things are a little different now that Colby is on the move (ps...when I say on the move, I really mean RUNNING EVERYWHERE) Travis, my mom, my dad and I took turns chasing him around
Here is the cute couple enjoying their last supper before becoming husband and wifey
Our sweaty fam!
My baby brother Doug and his adorable girlfriend, Elyse
Cousin Brittany and her boyfriend Andrew
not sure if Colby was bored, tired or just making random high pitched noises here :)

Pictures of June :)

Well, we still have a broken computer and no internet at our house. :(
Even though this is a minor blogging setback, the fun pictures and memories haven't stopped!!! I wanted to try to quickly get some of our June pictures up before I was so far behind that I gave up.
Between croup, splashpark, golf course, grandparents, new TEETH, ear infections, and playtime, we've been busy....there's never a dull moment at the Anthony's house, and we are blessed to have it that way!!
To say that I'm enjoying my summer at home with Colby doesn't even begin to explain how much I love waking up and playing with him all day. Yesterday he was a little GIGGLEBOX!!! We were both rolling on the floor laughing at each other, and I loved every second of it. This is a fun age. Even though the lack of communication can be frustrating for both of us, Colby is running and laughing and playing sooooo much. It is pure joy!!

look at all of those teeth!!! (he has 12 that are fully through, 2 that he's cutting right now, and 2 more that are beginning to cut through the surface...16 teeth!)
peek a boo!!
Our most fun new adventure (for colby, not for mommy and daddy) is that Colby can open and close all of the doors in our house. This is his favorite game. He thinks it's hilarious when he opens the door and sees your face.

CHEESE! (we can finally get some smiles out of him when we say "show me your teeth!")

Last week we had a playdate at the Temple Splash Park. Colby looooooves water, but pools aren't his favorite because he can't run around. The splashpark is perfect!

he also had his first McDonald's happy meal and LOVED it!! (of course...)

trying to show Princeton how to make the water come back on
Lizzy and Mason Man
Colby absolutely loved Hope's nieces, Jordan and Cassidy

1st attempt at coloring with crayons
I thought it would be cute to do some Father's Day artwork
didn't turn out like I had hoped

"These are yummy mom!"
I know most people don't take pictures of their kids' feet, but Colby got these for his birthday from the Rosenbaums, and I'm obsessed with how cute they are on him!!!
Thanks guys!
My KP pets are home for the summer. (Emmy- bunny, Leo and Peanut- turtles) Colby checks on them every morning with me. There is definitely NOT enough room for them anywhere in our house, but thankfully I have a very understanding husband who lets them stay in the laundry room for 2 short months.
First week staying home with mommy and look what happened! Poor baby...he had a huge goose egg for a week!
My first Friday home with him was one of the worst days ever. My poor baby had CROUP! It was awful. I was going to make a post with all of the details, but then I decided it was really boring. Long story short, he had a nasty barking cough, 104 fever, the most terrible doctor's visit ever, and a heartbroken mommy. Luckily, the worst of it only lasted a day or two, but the coughing lingered for 2 weeks.
reading in mommy and daddy's bed
watching daddy mow the grass
1st time on the golf cart with Pops
I'm sure they clean their golf balls at Wildflower, right?

I was hoping Colby wouldn't find the sand, but by the time we got back to Mimsy and Pops' house, he was a hot, sweaty, sandy MESS!
we are starting the self feeding process

it's soooooo messy, but he loves the independence!!
These 2 are still best buds- Colby says "Bubba" ALL the time
Hope took these pictures while we were playing at Joy's house one day. I think they're so cute!!

BEEP BEEP!

"Yaaaaaaay Colby!"

This last one is actually from Isabella McGregor's sip-and-see at the beginning of May, but I never posted it and it's too cute!!!! He wanted to give her kisses so badly! :) What a sweet baby girl.
