2 weeks old

Today we celebrated Camryn's 2 week birthday with a GREAT nap in her big girl crib.

Happy Memorial Day!!

We had so much fun celebrating Memorial Day this year with daddy having the day off. He and Colby went to the Anthony's house to swim and play all day. Camryn and I met up with them in the evening to watch them swim and eat fajitas- yummy!!
This kid was cracking us up with his goofy goggles!
A HUGE thank you to all of the past, present and future service men and women- today we celebrate and thank YOU!! :)

Beautiful Baby!

I LOVE this little girl with all my heart!
The sentimental part of me wants her to be this tiny little ball of cuteness forever...
The exhausted-mommy-of-two part of me is excited about her growing up a little bit, going longer between feedings, sleeping more at night, etc.
I know from experience with Colby that I will wish I had cherished these days more and I will do anything to get them back, but I also know that these babies just get more and more FUN the older they get!!
 Bring on week 3!!
identical to her brother? I think yes...

First Bath

Soooo....she's not a huge fan, but I'm sure bath time will soon be one of her favorites. (we took Dr. Smith's advice to heart when he told us not to bathe her every day. I think she was almost a week old before we remembered to give her a bath.)
This was the one part of her bath that she truly did LOVE
Super Dad has been in charge of bath time
Colby really wanted to help, but he really hates when she cries
don't let this picture fool you...I just helped by trying to hold in her paci

Visiting Cami

We've had some very special visitors over the past few weeks. (I'm mad at myself for not getting a picture of EVERYONE who has come over, but just like everything else, I'm blaming it on lack of sleep)
A few days after Camryn was born, her great-grandparents, Mamaw and Papaw Macey, were coming through town on their way to Dallas and stopped by to meet their newest great-grand daughter. I didn't put a bow in her hair, because I knew Papaw does not like when baby girls wear bows....haha...but we did sneak a hat on while he held her, and I think he approved.
Both Grandpas came by to visit
Mimsy has been a LIFE SAVER and was at our house every day for the first week or so (and even spent the night with us for a few nights to help out with rocking Cami back to sleep after eating and getting up with Colby)
Lola (Betsy Jermstad)
Uncle DJ
Nick and Zia
 Nona
Allyson and Lane (thank you for entertaining Colby while I fed Cami)
One of Cami's best friends, Abigail Armstrong came by last week- so adorable!!!

Best Big Brother

To say that Colby is obsessed with his baby sister is an understatement. I really wasn't sure how he would react to a sibling, and don't get me wrong, we have had some ROUGH moments, but I think we're finally all starting to get used to each other. Colby is IN LOVE with Camryn. I think it helps that Mimsy and Travis have both been so amazing and have taken him to do all kinds of fun one-on-one things. He hasn't just been sitting around here watching me feed Camryn. He has been golfing, playing football, swimming, going to birthday parties, playing in the sprinkler, etc. I think that he feels just as loved and special as he did before Camryn, and I'm so thankful for the extra help since I really can't do all of these things with him myself. Travis will be on lock-down pretty soon with studying and away rotations, so I'm glad he still has a few more days left to spoil our little boy and keep him busy while mom is trying to get used to feeding and taking care of a newborn with less sleep than before.

Colby comes into our bedroom every morning around 6:30 when I am feeding Camryn, and wants to crawl in bed and snuggle up next to us while we watch cartoons. Whenever I finish feeding her, he ALWAYS wants to hold her. He loves to put his head next to her to hug on her, rub her head, kiss her face and just watch her. Yesterday morning, he held her on my bed for over an hour. They were both perfectly content until Cami started getting fussy and Colby had a meltdown. He does NOT like for her to cry!!
One morning last week, he lifted up his shirt and wanted Camryn to drink milk from his tummy. :)
We had to have a conversation about how babies can only drink milk from their mommies and how we would have to wait for Camryn to get a little bit bigger and then he can feed her a bottle. (he's DYING to feed her)
Some of my dad's co-workers got Colby this precious book, The Super, Incredible Big Brother. It is SO SWEET and has Colby and Camryn's name in it several times. It also came with a Super, incredible Big Brother medal for Colby to wear around his neck. :)
Nona asked Colby if she could take baby Camryn home with her.
He replied "no! She has to stay here so I can protect her." :)
I don't think he even knows what that means, but it totally melted this momma's heart (I figured he'd be ready to give her away at this point!)
Colby- you make my heart smile. I pray that you love your baby sister like this and want to protect her forever!!!
