Halloween Supper Club
We had soooo much fun Saturday night at Supper Club- hosted by Jenn and Blake Pitts. We took Colby for a little while and then the Anthony's so kindly let him sleep at their house so that we could stay out a little later. We watched football, caught up, ate lots of yummy food, and played the game called Things. I think we only played like 4 rounds, but I was laughing so hard that it hurt!! We all brought pumpkins for a pumpkin carving contest...but I think we forgot to carve them!! oops....
Thank you so much for such a fun night Jenn and Blake!
Girls and babies...Brooks, Jenna and Colby (this was the first time for me to see sweet baby Brooks!)
look at these 2 cutie pies!!! (Jenna- 4 months, Colby 7 months)
Colby REALLY wanted that bow...sorry Jenna Mae!
hmmmm....a kiss? or a secret? They're so cute!
Another 1st...
Last week, mom and I decided it was time to brave a grocery cart with Colby. He barely fits in his carseat these days, (we are quickly nearing the 22 pound limit!) and we decided that if we tried the grocery cart cover together, we could see if he was ready for it. I think he is! Especially after we surrounded him with purses and formula cans to prop him up. :) He LOVED Target...in fact, he did so well that I decided I could take him to Wal-Mart with me this weekend. (Belton Wal-Mart...not sure if his little immune system is quite ready for Temple Wal-Mart...you know it's true!) He was weird at Wal-Mart...but very well behaved and content. He was making this old man face the whole time and then when I was checking out, he was almost falling asleep! haha...poor little guy...it wore him out. I didn't get any pictures at Wal-Mart (I thought it would be wierd since I was by myslef...for some reason, being with my mom it didn't seem so weird.)
in awe of this new world...
sweet baby Jenna
I took this picture a few weeks ago (ok, maybe like a month or two ago...I can't remember) of Colby watching Jenna on the computer. I was catching up on my blogs for the day, and the video of Lee rocking Jenna caught his eye. :) So cute!!
candy corn
We just love our "auntie" Whitney! Everytime I turn around, she is sending Colby a happy surprise. This time it was the cutest candy corn hat and socks! Colby is feeling very festive in his new gear. I also can't wait to put him in his Halloween costume! I hope it fits...I haven't even tried it on him yet...he's going to be the cutest little MONKEY that you've ever seen!!! Stay tuned for pictures...

7 month update
WOW! 7 months?!? Where has the time gone. Month 6 was the most fun and fastest month so far. Colby is the love of our lives...I really can't imagine not having him around.
Here are our 7 month milestones...
Colby has 2 bottom teeth,
he's eating everything in sight...all day long...except for bananas,
favorite foods are apple blueberry, pears, peas, green beans, squash, sweet potatoes,
he loves Gerber puffs...we're working on him picking them up and getting them to his mouth,
he's sleeping from about 8pm-7am,
he's taking 3 naps a day...anywhere from 1-2 hours each,
he's rolling all over the place...mostly just to the left, but he can go either way,
loving tummy time now,
his favorite position is for you to help him stand up,
he LOVES to spit,
he is super ticklish and loves to smile and laugh,
he LOVES remote controls, cell phones, watches and candles...hmmm...,
he has started making this old man face and saying "baahh, bahhh, bahhh, bahhh" (I'm working on the transition to maaah, maaah, maah),
loves to play with feet,
when he's in the right mood he loves to snuggle and give open mouth kisses
he loves to pull my hair, earrings and necklaces...
He's turning into a precious and super cute little boy. I'm so proud of him! Every day just gets more and more fun, and I hope it continues to be like that for the rest of his life!!

6 month check-up
Well, you know that I have to preface this post by saying that Colby was actually 7 months old when we went for his 6 month check up. :) I was excited that Travis was able to meet us for the appointment too!

doesn't he look excited to be there?!?

doesn't he look excited to be there?!?

STATS
weight- 19 pounds, 4 ounces (60th percentile)
height- 26 1/2 in (50th percentile)
I guess he's pretty average...can't complain about that.
My Questions:
What are the minimum/maximum amounts that Colby should be eating?
Dr. Kastner said that whatever we're doing is fine. Colby's weight is perfect. He said that every baby is different, so he doens't like to say a specific amount. As long as Colby's tummy isn't sticking way out after he eats and he isn't spitting up too much or having really bad gas after he eats, he is probably ok. He should be getting 16-24 ounces of fomula each day.
Congestion...should I be cleaning out his nose? Is is allergies? When does it become a problem?
Apparently allergists say that babies don't have allergies...hmmm...ok.
Dr. Kastner said that as long as the congestion isn't keeping him from eating and sleeping, it's fine. Trying to clean out his nose could make it even worse. If it does get really bad and gross (which it isn't) we could take him in the shower with us to try to let the steam soften things up or spray some saline in his nose to clean it out. He said it could just be a little cold, but we don't need to do anything unless he has a cough that keeps him up at night or a fever.
Head shape??
We've had some concerns about Colby's skull since he has a little flat spot on the back of his head and the front looks a little uneven. The first thing that Dr. Kastner said was that his hairline doesn't help any. :) Sorry Colby!! He checked things out and said that he wasn't too concerned about it. If it was really bad, Colby would need to wear a helmet to try to shape the skull back to normal, but he doesn't see any reason that we need to do this unless we really want to (uhh...no). He did send us for skull x-rays that same day just to be sure that Colby's skull was forming correctly.
So after 4 shots (and a SCREAMING baby) and holding Colby down for skull x-rays ( and more SCREAMING baby), all is well! The x-rays came back normal- praise God!! We are so thankful for our healthy baby boy. He just keeps getting more and more FUN!
Oh! Dr. Kastner also said that we don't need to come back in until Colby is 12 months- yay! Then we'll be back on schedule. :)
Photo Shoot
We FINALLY got professional pictures taken of Colby Lee. I had heard that 6 months was the best time, so I held out until then. Molly Cripe of Photographics Unlimited did an amazing job!! Check out her blog www.photographicsunlimited.blogspot.com to see a few sneak peaks of Colby's 6 month photos. Thank you Molly!! The pictures are beautiful.
Happy 28th Birthday Trav!!
We started Trav's birthday celebration with dinner at my parents house on his birthday. Mamaw, Papaw, and Gram all joined us to wish Travis a happy birthday. It was wonderful to see them, and they had so much fun with Colby.
Then, last weekend, we celebrated with GREAT friends out at the Oscar Store. We had dinner and then hung out all night outside (even though it was a bit chilly!!) and listened to some Texas country music. It was really fun to see everyone. THANK YOU for coming out to help us celebrate- we love you guys!!

This past Tuesday, we had a BBQ chicken dinner to celebrate Travis and Erika's birthdays at the Anthony's house. We are so lucky to have both of our families here. It makes special occasions so much more special.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRAVIS!!! XOXO
(and Erika!!)
