I don't know who is responsible for teaching Colby all of his cool tricks, but thank you! Between my mom, Ms. Crystal and Noggin (yes, I'm serious), Colby is learning so many new things. He has been saying 1, 2, 3 for a little while now....like when I put on his shirt, we count to three and then pull it on or when we're going to push a truck across the floor, we'll count to three and then let it go. Yesterday, we were counting to three and then Colby would fall backwards on our bed. When we got to three, Colby fell back and then said foooooour.... I was like....did you just say 4?!? Then he said fiiii, siiiiiiix, seeeeeeben, aaaaaaaaaaape, niiiiiiiii, teeeeen!! I was SHOCKED to say the least. I grabbed my camera, and luckily, he showed off again. (usually he just stares at the camera and makes me look silly)

Cameron Park Zoo
So...Colby is 19 months old and I carried him for 9 months...that means that I've been waiting 28 months to take this little guy to the zoo!! :) Zoos are one of my favorite places EVER, and I just hope I can pass on that love to Colbster.
Our first family trip to the zoo was a huge success. It's been a rare occasion for all 3 of us to have a free Saturday morning and for the weather to be so wonderful.

19 months?!?
There are so many things about you that I love, love, love right now! I'm so scared that I will forget some of the precious things you do. I'm going to attempt to make a list, but I know I will never think of it all. There are new things every day that crack me up, make me smile, and bring a tear to my eye. You are growing up so fast, and I'm so thankful to be able to watch you grow!!
1) you are starting to put words together...my favorite is "wuub you momma!"
2) you are learning words to songs. "Happy youknowit" and "ming ming too" (from wonderpets)
3) you hug and kiss on demand...even when you don't want to :) (and your kisses are finally closed mouthed kisses....your auntie Lisa is happy about this) You also give the best hugs and kisses out of the blue just to give us some love. These are the best!!
4) you LOVE to play. Now, when we try to give you your wubby and paci, you will say "no! no! pway, pway pway!" You especially love your lawn mower, leapfrog musical table (you have loved this since you were like 10 months old), ANY and EVERY truck, tractor, car, train and ball, and one of your very favorite things is your leapfrog phone.
5. speaking of phone...you are HYSTERICAL when you "talk" on the phone. You don't say any of the words you know....you just make up sounds and put them together really quickly. You also hold up the phone to my ear so that I can talk on the phone. :) When I say Bye Bye! You know that I'm done.
6. You are beginning to say words when they actually make sense. The other day, I sneezed, and you said "Bless you" all by yourself! You're also pretty good about saying "thank you" when we give you something you're asking for like your sippy cup. Hopefully we can keep this up.
7. You love to be ROCKED before you go to bed. This is one of my favorite things right now. It's like you just KNOW that if we give you paci and wubby, it's time for bed. We sit in the rocking chair in your room and you immediately lay your head on our chest and let us rock you. This has become a great time for prayers and songs and just time for us to love on you. THANK YOU for giving us this time...it means the world to us.
8. You constantly repeat everything we say, and you also know so many words without us telling you. Some if the things we hear often are:
love you (wuh you)
bye- bye
tractor
big truck
car
ball
ready- set- go (rey- seh- go)
one, two, three
golf cart
mimsy (mimi)
pops (paw)
Nona
Pappy
Crystal
school
lawnmower and airplane- you name these when you hear them...it's amazing to me that you already know by the sound what it is. You spot them before we do!!
Mason
button
help please
down please
milk (no....this makes no sense, but you pronounce milk as "no")
no-no
Bubba
"good job buddy"
outside!
Hey Daddy!
Silly Daddy!
9. You know how to work us already! Today, you tried to bite daddy's head. He popped your hand and told you, no no! We all just sat there waiting to see what you would do. You stuck out your bottom lip as far as I've ever seen, looked at your daddy like you were about to cry, and it was so funny all 3 of us just busted out laughing!! You're definitely going to give us a run for our money!! Later on tonight, you showed us your feet stomping, screaming tantrum....I'm hoping that was a one day thing. :)
Overall, you are a SWEET, funny, playful, adorable, lovable, excited, joyful little boy. We are so blessed that the Lord has trusted us to take care of you on Earth. Happy 19 month birthday baby boy!!!

Tractor!
....one of Colby's most repeated words right now...
Across from our subdivision, they are building a new road and a new Belton middle school. Due to all of this construction, there are always tons of tractors on our way home. Every day I slow down so that Colby can get a good look at his beloved "tractor, tractor, tractors!" When we get past them, he will start saying "Bye Bye Tractor! Bye Bye! Bye Bye Tractor!" haha....one day he even added "wuuub you!"
What a JOY!!
This morning, Colby strolled with my mom and her walking buddy, Sharon Schneider. They walk every morning at Sharon's house, but usually they walk before Colby comes over. This morning, I took Colby to my mom's earlier than normal, so he got to go along, and I'm glad he did! At Sharon's house there was a TRACTOR!!! Mom wanted him to sit in the little scooper part for a picture to send me, but this was the best she could do. :)
