Well, I don't have any pictures, but Colby had his first (actually 2nd, but that was so long ago I'm not counting it) nursery experience at church on Saturday night during the Easter service. He and Jenna Mae were the first 2 to arrive in the crawlers room, so I was excited they would get to play! The volunteers were so sweet and I was sure that Colby would be just fine. (even though I watched the screen at church during the whole service waiting for our number to come up to tell us they needed us!)
When the service was over, we headed back to the nursery, and the nursery director caught us at the door to tell us that Colby was SO good and had SO much fun until the last 5 minutes. When they picked him up to change his diaper, he started screaming and would not stop. As soon as she said that, I HEARD my baby screaming. I felt so sorry for the volunteers!! I think bedtime combined with teething and new people just sent him over the edge. He didn't even calm down much when we took over....he was just done...and ready for bed!
We're going to make an extra effort to make sure Colby goes to the nursery every week so that he will become a pro. It's just been so easy to drop him off at my parents or leave him with the Anthonys during church, but it's time for this boy to get out more!! :) (this goes back to the whole "don't judge other moms" thing...please don't judge me for having the screaming baby in the nursery!! I promise I'm not a bad mom!! haha)

Haha... no judgment here! I have the daughter who screamed at every person she saw!! :) (Yes, I'm talking in past tense because we are officially over this! Woo hoo!)
So proud of Colby and his nursery experience!!
Don't worry about him screaming. My daughter is almost 3 yrs old and she screamed the entire time she was in the nursery every Sunday. It has only been in the last month or so that she doesn't really scream anymore. Colby will do great! It will get easier and easier for him each Sunday!!!
Hey Marybeth! I found your blog and hope you don't mind! Both of my kids are SO FUSSY so I can totally relate. At TBC the nursery is always so dark and quiet. I just KNOW that Owen fusses the whole time. The volunteers are so kind but say "Yeah, he's pretty fussy"! It took me FORever to leave Emma (my oldest) in the church nursery but I put Owen in there a little sooner. I totally understand your hesitation ;)
