Every year, on September 1st, my aunt and uncle host a Dove Season kickoff party! I can't really remember how long they've been doing this...maybe 5 years or so, but we always look forward to it being a great time. The guys hunt, the girls eat and sip on margaritas, and it's just a great excuse to hang out with the fam. Now that my grandparents have moved to D'Hanis, it's always a treat when they come to visit.
Travis had to miss out this year due to a fantasy football draft, (lame! :)) but Colby and I went to represent the Anthony clan, and we stayed until 9:30!! I thought for sure we'd be there for an hour or 2 and then Colby would start to crumble, but if you give that boy an area to run and play and throw rocks and dirt, he will be good to go for hours and hours. We may be making many trips to the Macey farm this fall to watch the longhorns and play in the dirt.
